How is an MRI Scan Performed?
MRI scanning is an important technology that provides detailed images for the analysis of organs and tissues in our body. The machine has a somewhat large, tunnel-like design. Since it is a magnetic field, the patient is asked to remove all metal accessories and clothing during the scan. The duration of the MRI scan can vary between 15 and 45 minutes, depending on the procedure to be performed or the area to be scanned. During the scanning process, magnetic waves are sent to the patient’s body by the machine. As a result of the MRI scan, the images are transferred to the computer in cross-sections and left for the review of the **radiology specialist** doctor. The scanning process is performed with the patient lying down and remaining still. Patients are asked not to delay or neglect the MRI requests made by their treating doctors.
